Online Advertising Mistakes ? 3 Donts For Newbies
January 31, 2008
Are you new to Network Marketing? If you are, then PLEASE avoid these mistakes when you promote your business opportunity!
Mistake#1. Spamming
SPAM: Sending People Annoying Messages
Yes, you got the point! People hate spams simply because they are annoying! They receive emails from someone they don’t expect. So stop making a list of those email addresses from Newsgroups or Free Ads Classifieds or wherever! It’s just not going to work that way to promote your business.
Spamming on the contrary could put your business at risk. Since almost all of the internet users nowadays just can’t put up with it, here’s some predictions of what they could do to ruin your business.
If you join an affiliate program or perhaps you are a representative of a certain company, they could just send an email to that company, informing them that they are receiving spams from you. Generally, they have zero tolerance for spamming and will eliminate you without warning.
Or, they also can make a report on you to your Web Host or ISP. How about that?!
Mistake #2. Reach un-targeted people
11 Extraordinary Ways To Expand Your Subscriber List
January 30, 2008
Here are 11 ways to expand your subscriber list:
1. Use a conversational writing tone. It makes a connection. Yet, don’t get lax on the grammar and spelling. Use personal pronouns (I, me, you and your). Limit the percentage of I’s to half or less of the yous.
2. Spread the knowledge even further by asking your readership to forward a copy of your ezine to family members, friends, colleagues, or co-workers. Create a “please forward this ezine to” line or two. Give them an incentive, offer a free but-not-free item. This can be challenging to design.
3. Do you give presentations with slides or a projection system? Add a paragraph about your ezine and how to get it on the test slide. A test slide is the slide you leave up there when they are seating themselves. Leave it displayed until a few minutes before your presentation and then turn it off. By turning it off, it creates a “loss feeling” and they will pay attention to it the next time you turn it on.

Got Web Traffic but Still Low Sales? Ten Ways to Selling Success - Part 2
January 29, 2008
Part one of this article is available at www.bookcoaching.com/freearticles/article-34.shtml.
Have you put a lot of effort, time, and money into your site and are frustrated with lackluster sales? Are you planning to put a new Web site and don’t know where to start?
If you are like many business professionals out there, you know your subject, you are an expert speaker or coach in your field, and you are even passionate about it. You have great products and services to sell.
But do you translate those into benefit-driven headlines that pull sales? If you have already put your Web site up did you address your purpose? Do you want to inform, communicate, and help? That’s fine, but if you want to sell something, you will drive your potential customers away with such non-effective phrases as “welcome to my site,” Here’s by product ” long paragraphs of your bio on the home page, your book’s introduction, or “subscribe to my ezine.”
You have only 10 seconds to impress your Web visitors. They don’t care about anything except what you can do for them.
Give them a reason to buy.
Complimenting Your Site With Others
January 28, 2008
Consider for a minute my son’s website for grass mowing, grassattacker.com. Obviously this is a very small target group in our town, but think of the ideas and marketing opportunities that could come from something like this. By creating a website for ‘my client’, I’ve not only provided a way for him to increase revenue, but in this case I’ll be along with him (cutting grass all summer?!), and I’ll have the opportunity to market my skills in a non-intrusive manner to obviously web-savvy people.
Do you have a friend or colleague that has a business and website? A complimentary website could be the answer to your business needs. If you were in the flower selling business, why not hook up with a DJ service in your town? Both of you could then share leads on upcoming weddings. You could point business to them, and them to you. Complimentary businesses could boost your revenues dramatically. And complimentary websites that cross-link also increase your Google placement.
Working with complimentary businesses will help you become a leader in your area. If other businesses are recommending you, you’ve already got an advantage on your competition. In our example, a young groom and bride that hear about your flower company from their DJ service is more likely to visit/call you first, assuming they were happy with the DJ business.
Web Applications vs Desktop Software

Web Applications vs Desktop Software
by: Sharon Housley
There has been a long running debate about web applications replacing desktop software applications. While some functions are better suited to web applications. It is my belief that security concerns and legacy systems will prevent desktop software from becoming obsolete.
Some argue that the debate between web applications and desktop applications is pointless; as their is no clear answer. While still others argue that the issue at hand is as much a business and marketing issue, as it is a technological issue.
What Defines a Web Application Vs a Desktop Application?
A web application is an application delivered to users from a web server like the Internet. Some businesses run web applications on an intranet, as well. Web applications are becoming more popular due to the widespread use of the web browser as a client.
Some applications are better suited and more likely to become successful as web applications. Web applications designed specifically for search engine optimization, have become increasingly popular. It is easy to understand why web applications that relate to the Internet would prosper, while business applications may have less appeal in a web environment.
5 Ways to Educate Your Prospects for More Sales
January 26, 2008
It’s impossible to sell a product or service without demand ? no matter how low the price or how big the discount.
Education-Based Marketing creates demand by showing the prospects why they need your products and services, how to make intelligent buying decisions, and how to best use it after they buy.
Education-Based Marketing creates a ‘halo’ surrounding everything you sell.
When you promote an individual product or service, only that particular product or service benefits. But empowering customers and prospects benefits every product and service you sell.
Information pre-sells and differentiates. It builds customer confidence and positions you as credible, knowledgeable and trusted. Information sets you apart. You become a unique, trusted advisor.
Education-Based Marketing answers questions that must be answered before prospects will buy:
1. Who benefits from the product or service?
2. What benefits does the product or service provide?
3. When is the product or service needed?
4. Where is the product or service used?
5. How do you choose and use it?
Conventional advertising is hard to create because it’s judged by its creativity ? how effectively it attracts attention, how cleverly it delivers its message and how memorable it is.
Having a Domain Name And Web Site Gives Your Business The Key To The Door
January 25, 2008
Just like all things in life, the ways to run a business are rapidly changing and evolving. The potential involved with having a domain name/web site is staggering to say the least. A web site gives the consumer a ’shop front’ that is not only open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but is also situated right on their desktop. Instead of being locked into only the immediate area, the whole world’s marketplace becomes your sphere of interaction.
Customers can access information on all your products, no more salesperson with limited knowledge trying to explain something they no little about. No more waiting in lines for help, all people have access immediately.
The domain name of the website gives great freedom to the business process. Having your own name is like having an address, then infinite emails can be added to the name so different departments within the company can be reached without having to wait at reception. For example, sales@ Mary’s Plants.com will put the shopper in direct contact with Mary’s sales section.
How Do I Improve My Web Site Conversion Rate? Part 2
January 25, 2008
Question 1
Does it help to track visitor behavior on websites through software?
Yes is the simple answer. No debate is required but I’ll offer a simple explanation. If you don’t measure, how do you expect to know what to improve? You can guess and hope you get it right, but if you have effective tracking software, then you simply have facts in front of you.
Effective measurement is more than simply having good software though; it’s analyzing why things happen. One thing we measure is bounce, the number of people arriving at one page and then leaving without doing anything. The lower the bounce rate the better, because it means people are using the site more effectively.
One perfect example comes from a recent client. She had two pages with different articles on her site with exactly the same navigation left and centre. Most articles had a bounce rate of about 53%, but one had a better bounce of about 50% and another had a much worse bounce of around 90%. We looked at both and found that the one with the 50% bounce was much more relevant to the reader arriving at the page. It had better and more relevant links at the bottom of the article than the one with 90%. We concluded that by being relevant on the poor page in the same way, the bounce rate would be reduced. We would simply not have known that this was occurring at all without tracking software. So yes, it most definitely helps to track visitor behavior.
Ka Band -Affordable Satellite Internet On The Way!
January 24, 2008
Ka Band VSAT* satellite internet technology has enormous possibilities for telecommuters, rural locations and eventually for Motor Home users around the U.S. - if it works! Ka Band satellite internet is an all new approach to sending and receiving internet traffic from space (satellites used for internet are at least 23,000 miles from Earth). *Very small aperture terminal.
The key improvements in Ka band technology from the "blanket" approach used up to now are:
1. Ka Band employs "spot beams" rather than broadcasting over an entire Continent?.a far more efficient use of the available bandwidth resulting in lower monthly service cost to end users (as low as $49 per mo.).
2. Ka Band doesn’t require a very large dish (the dish is about the size of a trash can lid) to produce high speed internet in either direction (downloads & uploads are very fast), resulting in a lower equipment cost to consumers.
3. Ka Band uses technology that drastically lowers latency (the "lag" created by data traveling all the way to space and back).
