Owning A Piece Of The Internet

Owning A Piece Of The Internet
 by: Roberto Zarotti

Yes, you can do it, it is not at all expensive and difficult.

To the contrary, the cost to build your property can be a very small fraction of the value it will gain and the income it will allow you to get from it.

Because the cost is low and fixed, but the value depends mostly if not entirely on you.

It is similar to owning a big ground for a small price, and being able to build on it whatever you want, with your fantasy being the the limit.

This is what the internet allows you to do.

In fact, for setting up your web site you need:

1) To define a name for it.

This is your choice, the only important point is that the name must be new, not already used by another site.

Of course you will want to choose a name that is attractive and easy to remember.

2) A service called “hosting”, that will serve as the ground where your site will find space, and where everybody will be able to visit it.

Top 7 Internet Marketing Sites for 2005

April 29, 2008

Are you confused by what really works when marketing your business online?

I know the feeling. There are literally thousands of sites out there that either promise to teach you how to effectively market online or tell you that they have the magic formula.

However, there are some tried and true methods of internet marketing that actually work and never go out of style.

These seven sites will teach you how to market, and many of the resources they offer are absolutely free.

Internet Marketing Trainer - http://www.internetmarketingtrainer.com - For my money, and in my opinion, Malaysian marketer Richard Quek is one of the best. His ebook “Exposed!” is the internet marketing bible in that it will teach you all of the marketing methods you can use online, and it gives you all of the resources to set up a successful marketing campaign, most of them free. This ebook is so good that I keep a copy of it on my desk for reference.

Nine Effective Tips For Improving Your Website?s Usability

April 29, 2008

Web usability is perhaps the most important factor in any web design. This is the driving factor that keeps your visitors coming back to your website. Given below are a few points that you need to consider to increase your website’s usability.

Points to consider for improving web usability

1.) Give your visitor what he is looking for

A visitor means business; he is looking for information and will stay in your site only as long as he gets what he wants. So provide only relevant information on your homepage that is specific to your end users. Web logs are the best means of finding out which keyword your visitor used and for what purpose he could have visited your website.

2.) Tell your visitor what your site is all about

Often websites are crammed with information in no specific order making it hard to figure out what the site is all about! Your site should give information about what it can offer a visitor on an instant basis. You can do this by providing relevant information on the homepage. You can also provide links like ‘about us’ or ‘about this website’ for further clarification.

DSL Internet is a Simple and Easy Way to Get Fast Internet Service

April 28, 2008

DSL ? which stands for Digital Subscriber Line ? is a great way to get high-speed internet service, without having to get a cable modem, or live in an area that has cable lines. DSL providers have very fast and comparatively cheap internet connectivity.

To explain DSL, it is a way to enjoy high-speed internet using your telephone line, just as you would for dial up. Except that it has so many more advantages than a regular internet service could provide.

Have a look at some of the great ways that DSL internet can benefit your home or business:

- With a DSL installation, you can keep your internet connection open, and still use the same telephone line for phone calls; both incoming and outgoing.

- The internet speed that you can obtain with a quality DSL provider is much greater than that of a regular dial-up modem. To compare, you can get an average of 1.5 Mbps with a DSL modem, as opposed to only 56 Kbps with a dial-up connection (that’s 10 times faster!).

- DSL connection doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll need any new wiring. As long as you have a phone line with which to connect, then you’re already all set.

Have You Been Dropped By Yahoo?

April 27, 2008

Yahoo has fairly recently updated its guidelines. You can read the full list at:

http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/basics/basics-18.html

I thought that a few points were of great interest to you because we have discussed these issue in the past when describing the best way to future-proof your site against search engine algorithm changes.

Here are some of the new guidelines:

Pages Yahoo! Wants Included in Its Index ________________________________________

1. Original and unique content of genuine value

2. Pages designed primarily for humans, with search engine considerations secondary

3. Hyperlinks intended to help people find interesting, related content, when applicable

4. Metadata (including title and description) that accurately describes the contents of a web page

5. Good web design in general

It seems content is now King for Yahoo, and unique content at that. As I have always told you, develop webpages with unique content and your sites will do well.

Here is a summary of some of the guidelines Yahoo makes on what not to do. I have added my own comments in brackets afterwards:

1. redirects (targeting smart pages and similar cloaking techniques).

15 Ways to Manage Your E-Mail More Effectively

April 26, 2008

? Are you tired of searching for e-mail messages you know are somewhere? ? Is your electronic "In Box" full of outdated messages? ? Do you frequently get ultimatums from your IS department to "clean up your act?"

Love it or hate it ? or both! ? e-mail is increasingly the primary method for communicating in today’s digital world ? at work and at home. Research shows that introducing e-mail into a company increases printing by 40%.

In seminars, I often ask attendees, "How many of you print out your e-mail?" The vast majority raise their hand ? timidly! But let’s face it, sometimes paper is highly practical. Complex proposals, for example, often require discussions where you need a printed copy that result in physical notes, making the electronic e-mail less valuable than the printed out version.

On the other hand, printing out everything is not likely a good solution. The key to managing e-mail is determining when to keep hard copy and when to keep electronic copy, keeping in mind that sometimes both may be practical. In the case described above, for example, the printed version has value for discussion, and the electronic version has value for creating new versions after the discussion. In either event, the principles of The Paper Tiger methodology will improve communication and increase productivity.

Where To Find Low Cost Telecommunications / Mobile Phone Products
 by: Jonathan White

Technology is all around us. A lot of us depend on technology in our daily life’s day-to-day activities. One part of the technology industry that is getting better all the time is the telecommunications sector. Telecommunications is improving all the time. For example, broadband is becoming faster, mobile phones are becoming more advanced, etc. Due to this improving technology, many people who wish to keep up with it may now find it rather hard because of the fact that this technology is improving quicker and quicker all the time. In other words, once someone has brought a new mobile phone, they will then find that within a few months time a more advanced mobile phone will be on sale and their current mobile phone will become outdated.

The Secret Benefit Of Accessibility: Part 1 - Increased Usability

April 24, 2008

Web accessibility has so many benefits that I really do wonder why such a large number of websites have such diabolically bad accessibility. One of the main benefits is increased usability, which according to usability guru, Jakob Nielson, can increase the sales/conversion rate of a website by 100% and traffic by 150%.

At which point you must surely be asking, "So if I make my website accessible its usability will increase and I’ll make more money out of it?". Well, not quite. An accessible website is not automatically more usable but there are many areas of overlap:

1. Descriptive link text

Visually impaired web users can scan web pages by tabbing from link to link and listening to the content of the link text. As such, the link text in an accessible website must always be descriptive of its destination.

Equally, regularly sighted web users don’t read web pages word-for-word, but scan them looking for the information they’re after.

Link text such as ‘Click here’ has poor accessibility and usability as both regularly sighted and visually impaired web users scanning

April 24, 2008

If you own a website, you definitely want to improve visibility and get more traffic. There are a number of ways to do so like using search engine optimization, pay-per-click, submit to directories and more. Here are a list of effective ways to get more traffic and get more sales.

1. Sign-up to win web site awards. When you win, some award sites publish your web site link, name and description on their site.

2. Join online business associations or clubs. If you join, they will usually list all their members on their web site. It will give your business extra exposure.

3. Utilize a simple form of viral marketing. Write or have someone else write a small report with your ad included on it and allow others to give it away.

4. Improve your business by promoting customer feedback. Tell them you want their honest opinions about your business, good or bad.

5. Design your packaging so it sells your products. Utilize colors and lettering that make your product more attractive to your prospects.

6. Compare your product’s guarantee to your main competitors. Find a niche were your can design your guarantee to be more powerful.

Network Marketing Online ? The Method

April 23, 2008

Network Marketing online works by giving you your own online store and leaving it up to you to get people there. By doing this the company save millions a month in advertising. Not to mention physically opening a shop in every mall and the cost of running it. So the money is saved by making it online. The incentive to you is the commissions.

Think of McDonalds. If you got a job as a manager, you would be given “your” store. Your job would be to run the place, including hiring staff, and following their formula to market their products. You get paid a salary. The people who own the company, the shareholders, they make the big bucks. What you want to be able to do is bank shares and make commissions from not just your store but from the sales made from the stores of your downline.

SFI - the company - and the Veriuni Store ? it’s "shop" - is no different from McDonalds. Literally. You follow a method that works and ANYONE can run it. Anyone. That’s how McDs work. It follows an exact method that ANYONE can follow. Those kids on minimum wage making the burgers, fries and shakes have no knowledge of business, marketing or economics. Nor do they need any. They just follow the Method.
