Excelling With Online Marketing
February 28, 2009
Do you want to build a successful online business?
Then start using online math and use Microsoft Excel.
I’ve written an e-book this year that sells at a profit. In fact, I’ve written 2 e-books that sell at a profit (I’m thankful to all my Internet friends who have helped me.). I can’t imagine anyone selling anything on the Internet without using Excel to keep score on profits and performance.
Are you making a profit or running at a loss? A plain old Excel spreadsheet (or Lotus) will get the job done for you. Are their any trends in profits (or losses) for your online venture? Excel graphs make it easy to see (and sometimes predict) trends.
When you started your venture, how did you estimate the demand for your product on the Internet? I did research on Overture to predict the volume of my Google paid click impressions. Using Excel was a key part of that process.
Whenever I make an e-book sale I add it to my Excel sales database. I click on an Excel macro button that automatically re-formats my email sales notification into a record in my e-book sales Excel database.
Reciprocal Link Exchange Management Software
February 28, 2009
When shopping online for Link Management Software that can help create and automate your links directory, some important features that you should look for are as follows:
The software should,
- Create the links page based on your own template.
- Allow addition or removal of links at the click of a button and have the links page rebuilt.
- Allow webmasters to submit their site.
- Notify you when a webmaster has submitted their site and give you the option of accepting or rejecting their submission. .
- Automatically check whether link partners linked back to you.
- Help to automate the process of finding new partners.
- Be easy to install.
The key to success for a website or online business is good search engine ranking. All of the major search engines use link popularity to determine how well a site will rank so the more high quality, relevant links that lead to your site, the higher it will rank.
History Of The Computer; The Emergence Of Electronics

History Of The Computer; The Emergence Of Electronics
by: Tony Stockill
The history of the computer inevitably includes the development of electronics, we look at the explosive (!) growth of electronics in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
If anything could be said in favor of war, it may be that it speeds up the development of technology. Of course much of that technology is employed in killing people and destroying infrastructure, but there are also things which could be considered beneficial.
Electronics was around in the early part of the 20th Century, wireless, or radio, was in its infancy at the time of the first world war. Radio broadcasting came into prominence in the ’20s and 30’s, Television started in the ’30’s.
The second world war, from 1939 in Europe, and a couple of years later involving the USA, ended in 1945. Radar (Radio Aid To Detection And Ranging) was developed from early experiments, just prior to the war, in Britain and Germany. There was rapid development in the field, and, by the end of the war, Radar was being used in several fields.
Are You SURE Your Link Partners Still Link to You?
February 26, 2009
It’s a fact. While most link partners are scrupulously honest a few are little more than link scam artists. They’ll take a link from you to them. Put up your link back. But then when you’re not looking take yours down.
They win. You lose.
Now I’m not saying this happens a lot. But it does happen. And if you’re the type this would irritate, you’ve got to have a way to keep your link partners honest.
You do so by monitoring your links. Not like a neurotic every day - unless you want to. But more like a checking the oil in your car. Maybe once a month. Or every six weeks. You know just to keep things on the up and up?
Now sure, if you’ve got nothing better to do, you can do this checking by hand.
? Keep a list of link partners.
? Note the page your link appears on.
? One by one go to the sites, scan the page and eyeball your link. Up front and personal.
Of course if you’re like me, you’re constantly running out of day before running out of work.
Web Site Optimization: How To Speed Up Your Web Site By Minimizing Your GIF and PNG Image Bit-Depth
February 25, 2009
Are bloated images slowing down your web site and causing you lost business? Images comprise over 50% of the average web page so putting them on a diet is essential to improving web performance. One of the best ways to optimize GIFs and PNGs is to minimize the "bit-depth" or the number of colors within your images.
For palette-based formats like GIF and PNG, file size is directly related to the size of the color palette, or the number of colors in the image. As the number of colors in an image crosses a power of two, the file size jumps. A 33-color image must use a six-bit palette, while a 32-color image can use a 5-bit palette. Smaller palettes mean smaller codes (representing pixel patterns), which makes for smaller files. So minimizing the number of colors in index-color images like GIFs and PNGs will minimize file size.
The compression schemes used in GIFs (LZW) and PNGs (Deflate) are dictionary-based encoding algorithms. Dictionary based compression algorithms substitute shorter codes for longer patterns of strings within the data stream. Pixel patterns (substrings) in the data stream found in the dictionary are replaced with a single code. If a substring is not found in the dictionary, a new code is created and added to the dictionary. Compression is achieved when smaller codes are substituted for longer patterns of data.

Corporate Accounting: Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 future horizons - notes for consultant
by: Andrew Karasev
As we are writing this article - a lot of new ERP related information about Microsoft Business Solutions products: Axapta (Microsoft Dynamics AX), Navision (Microsoft Dynamics NAV), Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Great Plains is published on the daily basis, especially with the advance of the so-called “Project Green”. We would like to be a bit pessimistic and toss in new ideas about future Microsoft MRP products development and marketing positioning as we see the development on European (including UK, East Europe: Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, plus Southern Europe: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece), Latin American (including Brazil, where Microsoft is starting from scratch) and Asian ERP markets.
• Microsoft Dynamics GP vs. Microsoft Dynamics AX. This is probably the question of future positioning of these two ERPs. Axapta has modern design (the end of 20th century), while Great Plains Software Dynamics was designed in the beginning of 1990th as Great Plains Dexterity application

Sales Marketing: Ten Magnificent Marketing Ideas To Amplify Your Business
February 23, 2009
You can magnify and expand your business if you have these magnificent sales marketing ideas below:
1. Create a directory of web sites on a specific topic. Give people the option of adding the directory to their web site by linking to it. Put your business advertisement at the top of the director’s home page. This technique will get lots of people to linkto your web site and give you free advertising.
2. Do you have a product or service that doesn’t sell good? Offer it as a free bonus for someone else’s product or service. Get free advertising by placing your web site or business ad on the product or in the product package.
3. Trade autoresponder ads with other businesses. If both of you send out information with auto- responders just exchange a small classified ad to put at the bottom or top of each other’s autoresponder message.
4. Start a free tip line. Offer a free daily, weekly, or monthly tip recorded on your voice mail. The tips should be related to your business. Include your ad for your web site or business at the beginning or end of your message.
Basic Search Engine Optimization For Dummies
February 22, 2009
OK, you published your site, now you just sit by the phone with a notepad as the orders pour in, right? Well, weeks go by and nothing happens. What’s wrong?
Oops, you forgot to submit to search engines. No problem, you go onto Google, Yahoo, MSN, perhaps a couple more, and after some hassle with the usual red tape you get yourself submitted. Surely the orders will pour in now?
Or will they?
Let me illustrate the problem for you with an example.
Let’s say you are considering buying a new home theatre system this year. You want to do a bit of research so that you don’t get ripped off. How would you go about it?
Of course, you’d use a search engine. You might type in "audio visual suppliers melbourne" (assuming you live in Melbourne). Let’s say the search returns 30 thousand results, ten per page.
How many pages will you look at? One, maybe two? In other words, if your business is not within the top 20 in your category, it might as well not exist. So, the big question is, how do you get into the top twenty?
How One Free Advertising Method Can Trasform Your Income
February 21, 2009
A great way to get the word out about your business in a hurry is something so simple and effective yet few marketers online take advantage of it.
What if you can advertise for free and potentially get thousands of people to see your message? What if this same concept is viral and can potentially spread all over the internet?
What if you can have potentially hundreds of websites linking to you, and in the process, boost your search engine ranking? What if this same concept also builds trust and credibility and brands you online as an expert, which could quite possibly increase your sales?
What could this concept possibly be?
It’s staring you right in the face and you didn’t even know it! It’s called Article Writing.
Publishers are always looking for content for their ezine. You can give them that content by writing an article about something you know about or by sharing your experiences and if they like your article they will then publish it.
Then at the end of your article, include a small bio or resource box about yourself with a link to what you are promoting. This is where you will get your free advertising.
