Why Autoresponders Are An Essential Tool For Your Business
April 29, 2010
Did you know that one of the major purposes of a website is to capture visitor information and create an effective prospect list?
Do you also know you could write a newsletter or email broadcasts with important announcements and send it out to thousands of people in an instant without spamming anyone. Did your web designer tell you the method to do it or provide the software for it?
The most neglected aspect of millions of websites is an effective strategy to capture the details of the visitors and following up with them frequently and convert them to sales.
With spam laws getting tougher, spamming bulk email lists is no more the option. The emails list providers harvest the mail ids and put out attractive ads of millions of email ids which if you use will get you on the wrong side of your customer as well as your hosting service provider. Further uninvited emails invoke a feeling of anger in the receiver and there is not even a remote possibility that they would ever become your customer.
The key is your Optin list. Optin list is simply a list of web site visitor who has filled in a form at your site and opted to receive information from you.
Citation Machines

Citation Machines
by: Peter Vermeeren
What are citation machines? As per definition, “citation machines are web tools designed to assist teachers/ writers in modelling the proper use of information”. It may look as a complete definition to the common reader - but it actually does not say much. The first time someone mentioned “citation machines” phrase to me, I was stumped. And I am a regular user of the net, with a moderate knowledge of the Internet and surfing. So, in order to understand the term, ‘citation machines’ better, I decided to dig a little deeper and see if I get more clarity on its definition and uses.
I found out that what makes the today’s citation machines, was first the brainchild of David Warlick who designed this web tool in October 2000. It has been re-designed with a major facelift in January 2004. The main reason for which it was first brought into existence was to systematize the use of information, but it slowly turned a very useful tool to control plagiarism. It is nowadays used by writers specifically to prove that the material they have used is not plagiarised - which is course is very tempting with the open use and access to the million of resources on the Internet.
How To Choose A Website Designer
April 28, 2010
When you’re self-employed, choosing a website designer is a crucial decision, as a good website can bring you more business and a bad one can drive away prospective customers. Below are some important things to consider when selecting a website designer for your new site or site redesign.
What Types Of Websites Designers Are Out There?
I don’t think there is an “official” definition, so I’ll give you MY definition:
? A Website Designer helps you to determine the page layout, graphics, text location and colors of your site, as well as the navigation and how pages will cross-link to one another. He may also do the actual computer programming and graphic art work for the site, or may hire out that work to a programming specialist. A Website Designer is the project manager for your site design or redesign.
? A Website Programmer takes the design from the Designer and creates the code to make the site run. She is also responsible for all the technical stuff that happens behind-the-scenes to make sure the site works properly for your visitors.
? A Graphic Designer creates the graphics for the site, including your logo and buttons. A Graphic Designer may also create the overall look and feel of the site.
Utilizing Popular Directories as Free Link Sources
April 27, 2010
If you’re a webmaster, you’ve probably spent almost as much time going after link exchanges as actually building your website. Gaining in-bound links, especially from websites with a higher PageRank than your own, can increase your own PageRank on Google, and help your site attain a better overall ranking in Google search results. Proposing link exchanges with other sites that have similar content to your own is a good idea, but the process can be terribly time consuming. So what else can you do?
Most webmasters tend to underestimate the usefulness of online directories in propagating links to their website. No, I am not talking about FFA pages or the thousands of small directories only the website owners and perhaps two other people know about. I am talking about the big directories, such as The Open Directory Project (ODP or DMOZ), Yahoo, Zeal, and even Buzzle.
5 Guaranteed Ways To Snowball Your Resale Right Profits
April 26, 2010
Resale Right Products are a huge market. Unfortunately, may people are losing more money than they’re making. Ebooks are quickly devalued as everyone tries to offer them at a lower price than their competitors. Finally, the ebook is given out for free and it becomes nearly impossible to sell.
Here are some tips that a select few are using to consistently make sales with the same products others can hardly give away.
1.)Bonuses ? When in doubt, pack on the bonuses. If you join a site that supplies you with new resell rights every month, you’ll have a horde of titles to choose from. I personally try to look for ones that have a minimum price stipulation and allow you to "bundle" it with other products as long as the package is above the minimum price of the ebook.
Here’s another cool idea for a bonus. Find a related affiliate program with a high commission. Ask the owner if you can forfeit your commission and offer it as a "special price" for your customers. Now you have an awesome bonus that your competitors can’t offer!
Website Marketers Enemy No. 1
April 25, 2010
There comes a time in your efforts to market your website that you realise that it’s no longer enough to tell your family and friends to visit your website - you need to get some people who will pay you in cash rather than compliments. You need to start approaching other website owners and start building an online network of contacts.
This is a crucial step to achieving online success. I once read a quote that applied at the time to conventional ‘bricks and mortar’ businesses but it just as pertinent if not more so for online businesses:
“You will not be successful by being a cave dweller.”
Kind of obvious but there are so many business owners that are cave dwellers. Sitting in their offices staring at the phone day after day wondering why no new prospects ever phone them up. You have to stand up, open the door and get out into the world and shout from the rooftops about your business. If you’re online you need to do the same for your website.
5 Steps to VoIP

5 Steps to VoIP
by: Olivia Tan
So you’re ready to enjoy unlimited long distance calling and lower monthly phone bills. Well, before you make the switch, here are five steps that will help you get the VoIP plan that is best for you.
Make the Decision
Yes, it is new technology, and sometimes we are scared of the unknown. VoIP technology is on the rise and many high profile computer companies are already switching to VoIP and in return are becoming service providers. AOL, Sprint, and Verizon are offering VoIP as well as Internet Messaging services such as Yahoo, MSN, and AOL IM. First you must come to the decision that VoIP is best for you, your family, or your business needs. Research VoIP on the web and its providers. Talk to people that you know have already made the switch. Once you have made your decision to switch to VoIP, you are ready for the next step.
Choose the Plan that is Right for You
Tell me what your website does!
April 24, 2010
You know exactly what your organisation does and what your website offers its users. This information has probably become second nature to you, but first-time visitors to your site won’t know this. As such, make sure you don’t forget to tell them what you do.
As soon as new site visitors arrive at your website the first thing they need to know, before anything else, is what you do. You can talk all you like about how great you are, but unless you spell out what you actually do, they won’t even know what you’re so great at! This oh-so-overlooked yet such basic of information can be communicated to your site visitors in a number of different ways:
Page title
Don’t just use the page title to tell me who you are; tell me what you do too. If your company is called Bloggs Ltd don’t only place the words, ‘Bloggs Ltd’ in the page title as there’s plenty of room for more information. If Bloggs Ltd sells widgets, a good page title might be: ‘Bloggs Ltd - Buy widgets online’.
Why Your Site Needs Fresh, Relevant Content
April 23, 2010
It is said that content is king, but today ‘fresh, relevant content’ is the master - or is it?
Every owner of a commercial web site knows that frequent fresh content is needed on their pages in order to achieve and maintain a high listing on search engines which actively seek fresh content. Google sends out its ‘freshbot’ spider to gather and index new material from all the sites which offer it. MSN Search seeks it too. I’ve noticed that MSN Search’s spider pays a daily visit to a site of mine which has proper fresh content every day.
By incorporating fresh content, commercial web sites will remain competitive, for without it they will certainly fall down the search engine listings and lose business. Besides, having something new keeps visitors coming back and attracts potential customers.
But creating and then manually uploading fresh content onto our web sites each day is hard, time consuming work, isn’t it? What we want is a way of putting daily fresh content onto our web sites easily and efficiently. Let’s look at the current techniques available to us to achieve this goal and see which one offers a global solution to the fresh content problem:
