Candy Jar Marketing

May 30, 2010

What is one of the main keys to a successful internet business? Marketing. What do we all strive to perfect? Marketing. What is this article going to address to help you improve in? You got it, Marketing.

I recently had the pleasure to be impacted by a very simple yet effective marketing technique that had nothing to do with the internet, but could easily be applied there.

I work for one of the largest and most popular privately owned general contracting firms in the area that I live, and because of that, there are many companies that want to partner with us on projects that we do and get their piece of the market.

We have salespeople taking us out to lunch, on golf outings, to sporting events and our CEO even got to go to Florida to sit in the stands at the Super Bowl, courtesy of one of our equipment suppliers. Individuals who desire to do business with us are willing spend gobs of money just to keep themselves out in front of the competition, but those “big things” aren’t what I am basing my article on. It’s a simple, inexpensive technique that I like to call “Candy Jar Marketing”, and it has almost everyone of my co-workers’ attention.

Autosurf Investments To Avoid

Autosurf Investments To Avoid
 by: Sam Chim

There you are many pubic Autosurf Investment opportunities available today. One simple search for “Autosurf” returns about 1 million results on Yahoo. Anyone could get started in these types of internet investments.

The question is - “Would you want to?”

With the ease at which budding HYIP “starters” can obtain scripts used by popular programs such as 12DailyPro, do you really want to invest your hard-earned cash with these people?

While reading various Autosurf related forums, it became obvious that these programs were nothing more than elaborate pyramid schemes put together with “ready-to-go” scripts. To avoid any legal issues, they claim to “pay you for viewing ads” and that the “investment” you make is, in fact, not an investment but a “membership fee”. Administrators of these programs claim that they are able to sustain paying high returns (usually over 30% per month) because of money coming in from people wanting to purchase untargeted traffic at their Autosurf. Do you believe them? I certainly don’t.

Successful Advertising

May 29, 2010

Most folks starting out on the Internet have tried free classified ads sites and they usually get hit by people trying to sell you stuff. Or, they get into the top twenty results in the Search Engines, and a week later drop to number 164.

The Internet, the largest market in human history, has millions of folks in its audience. How do you reach those folks?

EZINE ADVERTIZING The best way of reaching your target audience.

Email newsletters, or ‘ezines’, are sent out regularly to subscribers, or ‘opt-in’ lists. Folks who have ‘chosen’ to receive a newsletter, like the one you’re reading right now. You get results when people read the ezines, read your ad, and, if you have matched the ezine with the product you’re selling, you have reached your target audience.

Ad swap services offer you access to many other folks who would be interested in swapping ads with you. All you do is sign up with them and they send you emails with names and ads. You then contact these folks, negotiate your best offer, and VIOLA ! Your ad is seen in their ezine.

Tales, Fails And Betrayals Of Search Engine Placement Part 1

May 27, 2010

This is the first of a series of articles about a subject so many people want to learn; the un-sizzled truth of search engines. What do you really know about how a web site is placed? Are you being told the truth? Not only will these articles enlighten you, but along the way, I will create a new web site and in the next 2 months we will watch where it lands!

You will learn about the tricks, and tools I use. If I have an affiliation with any of the companies I recommend, I will let you know. I’m going to start at the very beginning. Therefore, I will assume you have little or no knowledge of how web pages get to the top of the search engines.

There is a reason that large web site companies have names like eBay, Google, and Yahoo! These names are unique, limited in characters, easy to spell, easy to say and the biggest reason ? they are easy to REMEMBER! I also noticed that they are sounds my toddler makes! I’m not a psychologist, so I won’t go there, but you get my point. I’m not saying that your web site name should be googoogaga.com, but the more unique the name, the less chance of duplication by others. Before you consider purchasing a web name, first check it out! Oh by the way, the name googoogaga.com is already taken.

Top 10 Webmaster Challenges

May 26, 2010

Webmasters deal with a myriad of complex design challenges every day. This article will discuss the top ten challenges and provide solutions and tips for solving each problem.

1. Browser Compatibility You must design your Web site so that it is viewable on both browsers: Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). Netscape Navigator is very strict when it comes to HTML tag completion, but IE isn’t. You need to view your site first using Macromedia Dreamweaver before publishing to the Web. Make sure you’ve run the command convert to ensure your site is version 3.0 browser compatible. If you’re using Netobjects Fusion to create the layout of your site, make sure that all layer objects are converted into tables. This is highly recommended if you want to reach a broader and wider audience.

Cisco CCNP / BSCI Tutorial: Comparing OSPF and ISIS Hellos

Cisco CCNP / BSCI Tutorial: Comparing OSPF and ISIS Hellos
 by: Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933

While studying to pass the BSCI exam and preparing to earn your CCNP certification, you’ll quickly notice that while OSPF and ISIS are both link-state protocols, there are a lot of differences between the two. One major difference is the way the two protocols handle hello packets.

Hello packets are imperative to keeping OSPF and ISIS adjacencies alive. Since they are both link-state protocols, neither of them will send updates at any specified time. Hello packets are the only method by which routers running OSPF and ISIS can see that a neighboring router is still available.

OSPF gives us some great options when it comes to keeping routing table size down via the use of stub and total stub areas, but to OSPF, a hello packet is a hello packet. ISIS routers are capable of sending two different types of hellos - Level 1 and Level 2.

ISIS routers are classified as Level 1 (L1), Level 2 (L2), and Level 1-2 (L1-L2). By default, Cisco routers are L1-L2 routers; this means that every ISIS-enabled interface will send out both L1 and L2 hellos.

Website Marketing Mistakes Smart People Make

May 24, 2010

You have invested your time and money into putting up your website. Your prospective customers are out there, somewhere, and you want to make them aware of your site, what you offer and why they would want to visit.

You have some marketing ideas, but you don’t want to waste money. How can you avoid mistakes other smart website owners make?

By reading this article, of course.

I’m going to outline several tactics that DON’T work. By the end of this article, you’ll save time and money (not to mention avoiding throat-clinching disappointment and frustration) by skipping these Bad Ideas.

Bad Idea #1 - Let’s get more traffic to get more sales.

Seems reasonable at first glance. But it’s not always the best course to take. How well does your site sell now? What’s the sales conversion rate of your website? If your website is inefficient at converting 100 visitors into customers, it will be inefficient at converting 20000 visitors into customers.

For instance, I may find a client’s website converts 1 percent of their visitors to customers. If we can boost that number to 2 percent, they have doubled their sales without spending more money marketing. When they DO spend money on marketing, they still convert the higher percentage of their visitors to customers.

What Are Really The Best Strategies or Ideas for Internet Marketing?

May 24, 2010

There are many ways for you to do effective Internet Marketing campaigns. The first thing you need to do is build a targeted database of customers. Then you can make offers to these people over and over again.

You can do Joint Ventures with other people who may be more advanced with their Internet marketing and send out a campaign to their list. This is not spamming if the JV partner is the one doing the email and endorsing you with a link. Placing advertisements on other peoples or company’s websites, and in the search engines like Google and Yahoo, is also an effective may to conduct Internet marketing campaigns.

How about combining traditional and Internet marketing strategies to get offline people to your website with a great introductory offer? There are many online marketing companies you can go to and either purchase information products from or get direct consultations.

What would it mean to your company knowing you only paid for online advertising that worked? Unlike traditional marketing, online advertising is completely performance based and if your ad doesn’t work then you pay nothing.
