How to Develop a Local Traffic Base
July 31, 2010
Getting a loyal traffic base for your website is an important way in keeping your traffic high. People who like your website are also more likely to tell their friends about it in e-mails and post your website on other mediums like website forums and newsgroups.
There are many ways to help to develop loyal viewers, and I suggest that you try to implement one or more of them on your own websites.
Start a weekly or monthly newsletter, you can setup a mailing list on your website and distribute an e-mail on a regular basis that will tell your users about new things on your site, updates, or some new jokes!
Put up a “of the day” type section. Many websites have “babe of the day” or “joke of the day” and I find myself coming back to them almost everyday to check it out. It’s a great way to get people hooked on your website. But of course if you don’t update everyday then you might anger some of your readers.
In Business? 10 Reasons Why You Need a Website — Now!
July 30, 2010
1) Word of Mouth The single most powerful form of new business creation is word of mouth. Your past customers, friends, acquaintances and staff aren’t likely to carry your brochure or even your business card everywhere they go. The can however carry your domain name, in their heads! Every time they have a conversation that leads to your kind of business they just quote your simple domain name. You’ve chosen a simple domain name of course, easily remembered, easily spelt and requiring no explanation. For that reason avoid hyphenated names.
2) Cost Effective Have you ever produced a colour printed brochure or other printed promotional material? expensive isn’t it? When you have a web site created you may consider that expensive too. Hang on, make the comparison. A web site is a full colour brochure for your business. Unlike a printed brochure it never gets lost or put in the bin and you never have to go to your printer and pay for more. If things change or you are able to offer new products or services alterations to your web site can be made instantly and relatively cheaply too. You wed site is available in pristine condition, 24 hours a day to anyone in the world. You can even replace your printed brochure with a CD of your web site.
Does Your Internet Marketing Pull?
July 29, 2010
“Pull Marketing” has always been, and will continue to be the most effective internet marketing strategy at your disposal. Allow me to explain. Most marketing efforts can be placed into one of three categories:
1. “Push Marketing” or advertising basically screams at the viewer. “Hey Look at ME, Buy My Stuff NOW!” Because we are exposed to this type of marketing thousands of times a day, we’ve learned to tune it out, hate it and even protest against it. Look at SPAM for instance. People even get arrested for using email to “Push” their offers in front of us!
With Push Marketing we have no choice in the matter. We get a sales pitch whether we want it or not. And who doesn’t want a choice in what they see, read or hear?
2. “Permission Marketing” on the other hand aims to seduce us into allowing others to advertise to us. They offer up promises of great useful content, special offers and discounts if we signup, opt-in or subscribe. It’s effective but loosing ground day by day as we see the content more and more diluted by the ads.
Googles New SEO Rules
July 28, 2010
Google has recently made some pretty significant changes in its ranking algorithm. The latest update, dubbed by Google forum users as “Allegra”, has left some web sites in the dust and catapulted others to top positions. Major updates like this can happen a few times a year at Google, which is why picking the right search engine optimization company can be the difference between online success and failure. However, it becomes an increasingly difficult decision when SEO firms themselves are suffering from the Allegra update.
Over-optimization may have played the biggest part in the dropping of seo- guy.com from the top 50 Google results. Filtering out web sites that have had readability sacrificed for optimization is a growing trend at Google. It started with the Sandbox Effect in late 2004, where relatively new sites were not being seen at all in the Google results even with good keyword placement in content and incoming links. Many thought it was a deliberate effort by Google to penalize sites that had SEO work done. It’s a few months later and we see many of the ’sandboxed’ web sites finally appearing well for their targeted keywords.

Annoying Spyware And Its Elimination
by: Allen Brown
Nowadays, you might have noticed of a threatening word “Spyware”. Spyware software is becoming annoyance for the companies. Spyware is likely to be verified as a great damager to the companies. It is not so noticeable like spam and virus assaults to the systems. Spyware could be destructive and cause financial losses.
Spyware is almost an invisible software programs that collects and transmits personal or company’s important data through the Internet without being noticed. The transferred data could be used for smashing up your company’s credit or might hard hit its profits. Spyware is also commonly acknowledged as Adware, Malware, Sneakware and Snoopware.
Entry point of Spyware: It could enter your network by auto-download software that automatically downloaded to your network, even without user’s acknowledgement. It could also enter with software, which is downloaded by user that includes Spyware program. Most common entry of this software is pop-ups, which appears while opening any site. The pop-ups are very attractively designed to allure user to click it.
The Spyware software is not even blocked by firewall programs, as user itself allows it, of-course, due to unawareness. Similarly, the usual antivirus programs are also unable not block it, due to they don’t seem as wicked as viruses.

July 27, 2010
Have you ever thought about the real stories behind all the websites on the Internet? There are over 10 million sites out there and a human being with some hope or dream driving the process constructed each one. Too much of our modern world is presented to us in a barrage of superficial pictures that only show a very external glimpse of the true reality beneath the surface. Wouldn’t you like to know about the people who live behind this wall of technology? Humanity is the force behind all the websites, and for that matter, all technology that we use without a second thought everyday. Behind every advance in technology is a human being who wanted to get something done, then did it.
Why do you have a website? Is it your dream to share your ideas with the world? Do you feel you have a product or service that can help society run more smoothly? Do you feel lonely and feel that the Internet is finally a place to connect with others? Do you just want to express yourself to the world and if no one checks it out its O.K, because it has helped you to know yourself better? Each and every website on the Internet is a human being attempting to move forward on their life’s path. What drove you to make the move? Has it helped you, or have unforeseen problems arisen because of your venture? It is a risk you know, and I’m sure for every success story out there, there’s also a story of how the Web affected someone’s world in a contrary fashion.

Top 5 Reasons to Use Autoresponders
July 24, 2010
One of the best and newest tools out there for generating revenue is the Auto-Responder. If you aren’t using this tool in your business you are *losing money*!
Many times customers arrive at your website but aren’t quite ready to buy. They may not buy from you until they’ve seen your product more than once. So how do you keep them in your net until they are ready to buy? Auto-responders.
I’ve outlined the top 5 reasons you should be using this simple tool in your business starting today.
1. CHEAP. Of course this is the TOP reason to use auto- responders. Many times your web hosting company will offer fre*e auto-responders with your account. GoDaddy.com, my favorite hosting company offers fre*e auto-responders with your paid hosting account; however, the length of the message is limited. Another great option is Get Response, they offer a fre*e auto-responder account with unlimited auto-responders and up to 5 follow up messages. It doesn’t get cheaper than that!

Navigating the Maze for Low Cost International Calls
by: Chris Robertson
I know I’m not alone in feeling as though I’m in the Dark Ages when it comes to figuring out phone services and various calling plans. I’m truly not a Luddite, but with the plethora of phones, phone cards, calling cards, long distance phone service options, and local phone service options available, how is the average consumer supposed to make an informed decision? There are times when I find myself longing for the old days, when AT&T was the only game in town - or the country, for that matter.
I received a call from my phone company about a week ago. It turns out that my DSL contract is up at the end of the month. To be honest, I didn’t even know I had a contract for DSL. I thought I just signed up for it - end of story. The sales rep on the phone started asking rapid-fire questions about my current phone service and rattled off different types of phone service and rate plans. I was completely paralyzed. First, I didn’t understand why, if she was from the phone company, she didn’t already know my calling plan. Second, I have a deep distrust in this phone company, and simply wanted to keep my service, and for her to go away. I told her as much, though very politely, of course. Needless to say, I’m dreading my next phone bill, just in case she messed with my plan.
